Collectively
as a class in school Make an impression on three levels:
|
Inspiration:
Imagination:
Understanding:
There are three very specific aspects of using the J-O-B's in the class room, I'd like to highlight:
Traditionally, class room life is setup as follows:
Playing with these JOB descriptions, leaves those roles fully intact, but also adds a dimension where everybody is eqeal in having freedom of choice on which role to be, which function to have, right now.
That is ticking all the boxes of applying the understandings of the self-developments benefits of ' living in the now' and providing opportunities to ' be yourself in your unique way' and ' be the authority in your own life'.
Revolutionairy new horizons open up in daily class room life:
You can have the very same function as the teacher has, right now!
You can both be a Wonder Manager and inspire each other on how that can be done. Share the response ability?
You can also be quite something different from your peers, being the only Trader in Love, that day and... experiencing how that is perfectly OK to be 'the only one of a certain kind in the group for a while'.
You can combine as many functions as you wish and feel how ' teaming up' , show simultaniously several parts of you, produces diffrenent effect than being only ' one' thing at the time.
There is room for your interpretations and imagination and unique ways of being talents in the class room too.
Not only in what is labeled your ' own free time', hoping you've got quite some of that to enhance your unique human being life skills, but also in a more formal setting with many culturally outlined ' rules and regulations'.
- introduce yourself first, as a teacher to the J-O-B descriptions.
Read the words and allow the ideas behind it, to reach all of you, to connect with you, openly.
That means to allow it to enter not only the parts of you that 'actively think' ( the parts that produce conclusions about various elements and aspects of it) , but also absorbing it with the parts of you that 'embrace and process the total essence in vibes of it ' .... the levels of feeling. - A way of embracing the full vibe and resonance of the concepts is to make vibrational essences of it:
- print the 12 pictures
- put a glass of water during the night on top of one of the pictures
- sip the next day from that water with the intention to alow this J-O-B description's essence to speak to you
(repeat when desired) - It is all introducing quite abstract concepts. It is about looking at life from various angles. It is about seeing a wide range of approaches enabloing you to enjoying it more, experience having more nfluence on how it shapes itself. That may be a very new ( non-lineair) concept to you... so..... give it time to ' sink' in. May don't read them all at once , but one a day. Maybe re-read them, a couple of times.
Imagination:
- make your own products, (roughly) inspired on these J-O-B descriptions.
That can be ' poems', ' short stories', 'drawing', 'paintings', 'a melody'...... whichever form you feel happy with using - Take it easy on yourself...... rather do one with full attention, than several half heartedly.
- The key is to shape your interpretation of it, having let the concepts filtered through your whole system
- Develop a way of integrating your interpretations of the J-O-B in actions as you see it fit in your class, where you are being the inspiration and you are inviting the children to apply their own imagination onto it and integrate it in the daily/weekly routines of class-room every day life.
- Maybe tell your short story on a single JOB at the beginning of each day, for 12 days in a row? Then giving time and materials to the children to create their own interpretation of it on cards... so they create their own personal card set?
- Maybe then, start everyday with a new tradition where everybody selects a JOB card from their own deck... their own choice of who they'd like to be today?
- Maybe incorporate talking about the JOB's when challenging situations occur in the class ( bullying, grief, fighting.....):" I wonder which J-O-B- would be avbale to happily and comfortably deal with this situation? Is there any-one around who is this today?"
- ..... design your own ways as you see them fit. Key is: increasing shared response ability and allowing children to find and express their unique ways of being human, within the social context.
Understanding:
There are three very specific aspects of using the J-O-B's in the class room, I'd like to highlight:
- equality of position/role
- the possibility that more people fullfill the same (important) role, simultaniously in different ways
- living in the ' now'
Traditionally, class room life is setup as follows:
- the teacher(s) are in the leading position, have the authority over the children
- you are partaking there, either in the role as student ( who has to learn) , or a teacher (who knows)
- all the students efforts aim at having another function in the future
Playing with these JOB descriptions, leaves those roles fully intact, but also adds a dimension where everybody is eqeal in having freedom of choice on which role to be, which function to have, right now.
That is ticking all the boxes of applying the understandings of the self-developments benefits of ' living in the now' and providing opportunities to ' be yourself in your unique way' and ' be the authority in your own life'.
