Would you like to play with the tools a Chef of Delightment uses, every day?
The tools a Chef of Delightment seriously plays with
The Chef of Delightment has a preference to use every day the tool of ‘ looking with kind eyes’ .
According to the Chef of Delightment: “Thank you for all the Good Things in my life!”
He knows that all it takes is to look for and appreciate the beauty, to fully enjoy the Good Things in his life.
There are two important approaches you might like to use too:
kind eyes suggestion 1: There are only Good Things!
In labelling things, the Chef of Delightment chooses to pick words that indicate that to his kinds eyes.. there are only Good Things:
Things he enjoys right away,
Things he enjoys as a learning experience and
Things he understands are Good Things for other people, but he prefers to let them pass for himselve.
Picture the Chef of Delightment as a happy chef in a restaurant. Preparing meals with ease and joy. And even when there is a lot going on to get the meals prepared, and he moves sometimes at high speed and efficiency.... in his inner world is always a certain calmness that finds it origin in the understanding that he doesn’t have to fight anything.
He sees all the things he can enjoy right away: the nice ingredients, the clients interested in tasting his food, his kitchen equipment, his hardworking staff members.......
When something doesn’t go as smoothly as wished for, he chooses actively to learn from it and work around it.
So he ran out of tomatoes? A staff member dropped a dish on the floor? He burned the rhubarb crumble?
Rather than going on the route of:” OMG, it is always the same....I hate it when this happens during service..... who is to blame for this?”
He embraces it as an opportunity to laugh, to improvise, to be creative, to be supportive and to find solutions to this situation.
He also knows what he is about, what he really likes investing his time and energy in. That helps him when people knock on his door with request and suggestions...or when he reads things in magazines, listens to conversations.....
If he feels, calmly and confidently, that this option doesn’t serve him in being delightful and joyful, he will ‘ let it pass’ .
Does he open on his night off for an acquaintance? Does he want to take his car to the garage at the time he does his mise-en place? Does he subscribe to colleagues saying that it is such hard work and suffering, running a restaurant, especially with the staff you can get nowadays?
When he doesn’t, he chooses to do it in a delightful and joyful way.. because that is what he is about.
But in order to allow other people to have their preferences and choices... he rather chooses the formula:” I personally prefer......”, sometimes followed by “ because in my experience.......”
This keeps the lines of communication open, opens up to seeing other possibilities that do serve him and he doesn’t distance himself from being joyful and delightful in a calm way.
Although formulas like:”I hate.......”, I don’t want to.....” seem Energetically aligned around saying no, meaning no and doing no... they are fear driven. They are fed by the fear that there is the possibility that you still have to.......and that becomes a battle.
Shutting the door firmly on these options (that others might like) is shutting the door on a calm reasonable dialogue that may lead to really suitable options for everybody involved!
And is that is not enough reason.... it shuts the door on being joyful and delightful.
A Chef of Delightment always prefers to keep that door open.
kind eyes suggestion 2: gratitude
A Chef of Delightment simply loves to voice what his kind eyes appreciate.
If he ‘ means’ he is delighted by something, he will complete the Energetic Transaction by expressing that.
So he gives compliments to people around him who made an effort in doing something that pleases him. From putting on a nice piece of garment and giving him the pleasure of showing him something he likes to see, to appreciating the effort of somebody creating something he really likes.
He doesn’t hesitate to be pleased with himself too! If he achieved something he is really pleased with, he is delighted with himself. And why not? Being pleased with what you are and what you are able to achieve isn’t taking away anything from anybody!!!!
The modesty of saying” Yeah, well, what I did is nothing special”, meanwhile being happy about it, is not an Energetically Sound Transaction!
A Chef of Delightment is fully aware that pointing out something as wonderful, doesn’t lower other things down.
He doesn’t need to lower things or people down in order for him to feel better about himself! He doesn’t particularly feeding on misery... he prefers enjoying Good Things. That goes for the food he eats and serves, just as much as for the food for thought he consumes and serves.
Whenever he is aware that he enjoyed experiencing something, he expresses his joy.
In many cases he even smiles to no person in particular:” Thank you, Universe”.
